The Butterfly of Literature - Mai Zeadeh

An interactive workshop based on a documentary and pre-reading material, including a theoretical article on the problems of feminist criticism, and chapters of the novel  “Isis Copia nights” by the writer Wassini Alaraj.

The group discussed the life, creativity and suffering of the Lebanese-Palestinian writer, Mai Ziadeh, the topics of the Arab feminist movement, and the complicated contexts that accompanied the biography of Mai Ziadeh in particular. The dialogue also touched upon questions and projections on the status of women in the local community.
